BASIC FUNCTION:

The Sales Tax Supervisor position is responsible for supervising the administration of state and local sales tax work and various duties in the sales tax area of Drury Hotels. This position requires a high standard of integrity, service, and hospitality at all times to promote the Drury culture with co-workers, vendors & customers.

Job Duties:
  • Reviews and approves monthly/quarterly sales, use and occupancy tax returns. Performs electronic sales tax payments via the internet.
  • Performs sales, use and occupancy tax research and monitors compliance in multiple states.
  • Coordinates necessary tax registrations for new Drury hotel locations / legal entities.
  • Assists in scheduling and coordinating state/local sales tax audits; works with any state /local tax agency personnel during the course of such audits up to and including assessment resolution.
  • Coordinates and performs sales tax related internal audits (reviews) in areas including, but not limited to utilities, account payable invoices, tax exemption compliance (at the hotel level), liquor purchases and other areas that may be requested by management.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or relevant sales tax experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Requires ability to relate to the public and co-workers in a warm, friendly manner contributing to a hospitable environment.
  • Requires ability to give attention to detail and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently. Requires a thorough knowledge of Company policies and procedures as they relate to job responsibilities.
  • Requires ability to maintain effective working relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Must have the ability to work efficiently and independently.
