About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Data Science Consultant. You will be responsible for recognizing opportunities to improve the customer experience through the use of advanced analytics like machine learning and deep learning. More specifically, you will support data exploration and model development to evaluate and improve the customer experience using unstructured voice of customer data (e.g. speech and written communications), structured operational data (e.g. loan payment behaviors) and customer interaction data (e.g. web events).In this role, you will:
Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs that can be resolved through utilizing data-driven advanced analytical, statistical techniques, algorithms, or models
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth hypothesis generation and advanced analytics across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, and advanced inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and guidance to others
Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions generated from data driven insights that are large-scale, cross-functional, or companywide strategies
Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the company and serve as an expert advisor to leadership to drive recommendations and strategies based on data driven, analytical insights, trends, and patterns
Execute highly complex analytical experiments and create innovative statistical models to discover solutions for abstract business problems across various domains
Interpret and analyze data, using advanced analytics modeling methods and programming, to recommend ways to solve problems and influence business decisions and strategies
Provide consultation on data science best practices, methods, and tools to leverage
Communicate actionable insights and recommendations using data in a digestible format to a non-technical audience of varying levels, including leadership, across the company
Required Qualifications, US:
7+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science
Desired Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and development
Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and text analytics
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Python, PySpark and SQL
Large Language model (LLM) knowledge is strongly preferred
Experience working with unstructured data highly preferred
Ability to think creatively and identify opportunities to leverage machine learning or deep learning in order to improve the Wells Fargo customer experience
Ability to translate and summarize complex analysis into understandable, actionable insights and recommendations that directly drive effective business strategy
Ability to retrieve, combine and transform data from numerous information systems
Develop advanced approaches and modeling techniques to extract useful information from both unstructured and structured data
Develop robust data quality controls/processes to ensure data alignment, consistency and integrity for model development and implementation
Work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently, to deliver against key business initiatives
Take initiatives and drive each project to completion with minimal guidance while effectively managing multiple projects at a time
In New York City, the standard base pay range for this role is $138,500 - $287,600 Annually.
