Emerson Solution Architect leads and supports activities that guides the digitization efforts and development of a portfolio of solutions for Emerson IT. Solutions include projects, systems (including applications, technologies, processes and data), shared infrastructure services and shared application services. Example of such solutions and services are Master Data Management, Integrations, Digital Customer Experience, and IT Business Management. The ideal candidate understands the concepts of business goals, objectives and business outcomes, business capabilities, value-streams, and business processes and their importance in solution architecture. The solution architect provides the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to support the development of technology solutions to ensure that solutions meet business needs and align with architectural guardrails, patterns, governance, and standards. This candidate shall demonstrate competencies in below areas: Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies and technical debt Supports product managers and IT service owners in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire services, or systems, including applications, technologies, processes, and information Understands emerging technology trends and disruptions and their practical application to enable new and evolving business and operating models Creates architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution development across products, services, projects, and systems, including applications, technologies, processes, and information Provides standards, reference models and architecture designs to support architectural governance Defines the principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision as informed by architecture runway / domain roadmaps Leads various architecture communities of practice (ACoP), guiding and helping agile teams, product owners to align with the overall enterprise architecture governance and guardrails Credentials and Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, engineering, or equivalent experience Minimum of five years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including but not limited to technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, integration, database management or cloud development Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps Experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences

Skills Excellent analytical, planning, organizational, and technical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of AppDev methodologies, infrastructure, and network architecture Knowledge of IAM, MDM, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and Integration domains Knowledge of information principles and processes Understanding of various database technologies like MSSQL and Oracle Understanding of various backend development languages like Java and Python Understanding of various frontend web development languages like JavaScript, HTML and CSS Understanding of development frameworks such as Django and Spring Boot Understanding of system development life cycle methodologies (such as waterfall, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, and DevOps) Understanding of IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
