NPosition Type ManagementJOB SUMMARYThe Recruiting Manager, University Relations works with the Sr. Manager, University Relations and properties to understand the entry level management recruiting and staffing needs. This remote position establishes and maintains relationships with the career centers and students at key colleges and universities to identify, assess and deliver the best qualified candidates to fill entry level University Program positions. The Recruiting Manager also works with their Sr. Manager to ensure the right recruiting activities are activated each semester at key colleges and universities and aids in the development of field cadre to assist with the recruiting efforts. It is preferred for the candidate for this position to live in Denver, Dallas, or Houston. Travel is required for this position.EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONSBusiness/Functional Results

Partners with Sr. Manager to assess recruiting needs of the business and develop the appropriate recruiting strategy and programs to deliver top talent

Focuses on building skills of field cadre to enable recruiting excellence and increase Marriott brand loyalty

Develops sources of diverse candidates to help achieve the business’ Diversity & Inclusion goals

Plans & executes recruiting events at key colleges and universities in partnership with the assistance of Sr. Manager

Delivers brand & company presentations to students to inform them of our history, company values, and available opportunities

Managing Execution

Schedules and conducts recruiting events at key colleges and universities in partnership with field cadre and Sr. Managers

Identifies, sources and evaluates prospective candidates through the “On Campus Recruiting” process; interviews prospective candidates and produces a rank order of recommended candidates

Partners with Marriott on-campus champion to drive attendance at recruiting events and drive interest in Marriott brands

Provides training, as necessary, in interviewing and assessment techniques

Processes applicants and candidates throughout the applicant tracking system, timely and accurately with compliance policies

Provides recruiting activity reports to Sr. Manager, as requested

Partners with Sr. Manager to aggressively manage all activities on assigned college requisitions

Tracks key recruiting indicators to determine the effectiveness of current recruiting programs and adjusts as necessary, including during the active recruitment cycle

Provides feedback to Sr. Manager on the effectiveness of recruiting collateral and makes recommendations for any necessary changes and/or enhancements

Remains abreast of industry and company trends and can discuss these trends with students

Leadership

Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for students

Provides career counseling when appropriate

Interacts with candidates to obtain feedback on recruitment levels; effectively responds to and handles problems/complaints and engages the Sr. Manager as necessary

Establishes guidelines so cadre members understand expectations and parameters

Ensures cadre members receive ongoing training and understand the University Relations team’s expectations

Observes interview behaviors of cadre members and provides feedback to individuals; continuously strives to improve assessment performance

Financial Management

Is familiar with Human Resources and company financial goals; manages budget in alignment with these goals

Partners with Sr. Manager to monitor recruiting activities of cadre members to ensure adequate number of candidates while minimizing travel costs

Determines cost effectiveness of all recruiting programs and events in partnership with Sr. Manager

Other

Performs other duties as appropriate

Travel is required – approximately 40% and is cyclical based upon university calendars

CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIREDExperience and Skills

Two+ years of management experience required

Five+ years of hospitality experience preferred

Ability to acquire and maintain relationships with associates, customers, vendors, etc.

Ability to influence and coach as needed

Demonstrated experience in effective decision-making and problem-solving

Ability to work from home and independently in driving results for the business and in recruitment efforts

Strong relationship building skills required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Strong presentation skills required

Possesses exceptionally strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Ability to navigate many technical platforms, websites and social media venues

Education or Certification

2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major or

4-year bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major

Certified trainer; TCII certified preferred

Voyage Program graduate preferred but not necessary

California Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $66,560 to $134,991 annually.Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $63,150 to $122,722annually.Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $76,410 to $134,991 annually.New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $63,150 to $134,991annually.Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $67,724.80 to $134,991 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.
