SummaryThe Sr. Data Analyst will provide senior-level support and analysis for KCNSC enterprise data projects, define processes, and adhere to them. The role is responsible for performing data analysis, data mapping, data integration, data quality, and application development for our data cataloging solution. This role will provide primary support to be focused around our Data Governance activities as determined by KCNSC Data Office management.Duties and Responsibilities

Utilize analytical and technical skills for translating and analyzing business needs into requirements and lead the design and implementation of our governance solutions (cataloging, data quality, access management)

Work with project work streams, business stakeholders to design, implement and maintain best practice data governance cataloging and data quality solutions to support the business.

Perform data analysis by querying data sets in databases, spreadsheets, semi-structured data, and flat file format to identify and document master data, reference data, transaction data, business rules, data integration rules, data mapping and transformations.

Document internal processes and audit procedures to ensure data integrity of solutions

Research and resolve unexpected results or internal process flaws. Effectively prioritize and deploy solutions that can replace manual process

Develop our application design and use for our data cataloging and data quality systems

Support development of master data, data cataloging and data quality processes in data management tools.

Support a variety of information management projects of a highly varied nature including data analysis, data mining and data optimization

Develop and follow standard operating procedures for regularly occurring processes

Mentor, Cross-train and provide back-up coverage to other team members when needed

Operating at the Sr Analyst level, duties/responsibilities should be carried out with autonomy and require minimal direct supervision of day-to-day tasks and only high-level direction from departmental leadership. Should have the ability to support and coach others while maintaining productivity on directly assigned work.

You Must Have

Bachelors Degree or 6 years equivalent experience

5 years of demonstrated data management experience, including the ability to merge, clean and analyze large amounts of data

3 years of demonstrated experience with application development of cataloging and/or data quality solutions

Technical experience should include SQL, PL/SQL, T/SQL, NoSQL programming, and database objects such as stored procedures, materialized views, functions etc. or analytics tools (Microstrategy, Tableau, PowerBI) or data management tools (MDM, Data Catalog, Data Quality tools).

Data Process Analysis experience should include documentation and analysis techniques such as data flow diagrams (DFD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), and analyzing system level information flow and decomposing data process dependencies within a digital ecosystem.

Experience working with Data management platforms (Collibra, Informatica, Denodo, etc.)

Experience working with data models, data warehouse, data management and data movement.

Demonstrated ability to manage through ambiguity and competing priorities.

Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills. Strong interpersonal and collaborative work style.

Ability to work with and manage confidential information in a professional manner.

Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to lead/drive priorities.

Experience working on large scale business process improvement with results.

Ability to translate business requirements into effective process management solutions.
