Overview:Senior Project Manager is responsible for delivering integrated product solutions and support for actuarial modeling / prediction platforms related to information technology application development. Work in team environment and performs complex project management activities with guidance from leadership, in partnership with key stakeholders, with considerable latitude to apply independent judgement. The scope of activities in this role will focus on the delivery of complex technology solutions that enable business value. The Senior Project Manager will be accountable for all aspects of project planning, risk management, issue resolution and stakeholder communications. Needs to be able to anticipate challenges and apply proven experience to develop innovative solutions that may affect a diverse set of departments, divisions, or geographies.

Role:
  • Apply significant knowledge of best practices, extensive project management experience, advanced domain knowledge and proven ability to solve complex problems.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define project scope and schedule.
  • Adapt to changing process requirements and communicates impact of changing requirements to all affected stakeholders.
  • Apply fit-for-purpose project management rigor and discipline to ensure successful project execution, effective stakeholder communication and benefit realization.
  • Meet regularly with technical leads to manage status, milestones, risks and issues in an Agile SDLC
  • Conduct weekly releases and strives to improve and streamline it.
  • Ensures that all compliance related activities are adhered to and completed in a timely manner.
  • Identify and coordinates key resources from various teams required to conduct compliance activities.
  • Assists leadership with budget related activities for future projects.
  • Create and manage project plans. Anticipates risks and issues and leads creation of complex mitigation strategies to successfully deliver complex solutions that extend beyond the department, division or region.
  • Provide informal leadership and coaching to project team members to create and manage project plans and all other well-known project controls.
  • Cultivate partnerships with leadership, clients, key stakeholders, and project team members to develop comprehensive solutions and creative completion strategies that result in the successful delivery of business value.
  • Identify and acquire resources needed to meet project commitments. Identifies assumptions, dependencies and constraints that may impact successful project execution and delivery of business objectives.
  • Drive cross-functional decisions and provides consultation to leaders and key stakeholders based on business knowledge, domain expertise and project management experience.
  • Apply advanced organizational change management principles and proven practices to assess change readiness and develop a comprehensive change management plan that will ensure adoption of delivered solutions and realization of expected benefits.

Qualifications:
  • 8 - 10+ years relevant experience in application development project management.
  • Project scope, timeline, budget and resource responsibility.
  • Advanced project management, leadership and vendor management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate stakeholder objectives and scope for feasibility, understanding and scheduling to ensure projects meet success criteria and deliver business value.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of finance and/or accounting principles, standards and rules.
  • Highly advanced people management skills, demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop associates including the ability to delegate effectively.
  • Highly advanced knowledge and experience with various software development methodologies including demonstrated ability to apply rationale to produce desired project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply financial management principles to projects under management.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and work under tight timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to changing priorities and manage team dynamics in stressful conditions.

Desired:
  • Insurance and/or reinsurance industry knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Industry certifications in Project Management, ITIL or Agile framework.
