SummaryDesigns, carries out and monitors security interest for management initiatives and projects. Leads the planning, development and administration of security procedures and training programs for classified or proprietary materials, products, services, documents and equipment. Assures that training and internal practices, procedures, and policies comply with National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/Department of Energy (DOE) orders and any other applicable policies pertaining to security. Conducts audits, surveys, special studies, and prepares security plans and procedures. Familiar with all security requirements and policy. Interacts with NNSA, DOE Headquarters and other security leadership. May assume duties of Manager when absent from the office.Duties and Responsibilities

Works under consultative direction toward predetermined goals and objectives.

Assignments are usually self-initiated.

Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.

Provides technical support regarding security program(s).

Interprets DOE Orders, makes recommends to management and/or implements security policies and procedures to ensure compliance by all subcontractor and employees.

Interacts with DOE and other government agencies on matters related to security program(s).

Conducts, documents and communicates risk assessments used in the development of site specific threat analysis and security countermeasures.

Coordinates the reporting of functional performance against initiatives, objectives, and milestones, assuring timely submittal and progress.

Develops and facilitates internal communications which may include the processing and distribution of information through communications services.

Develops and delivers periodic lectures, training, and briefings to all levels of management and employees on security elements inclusive of Information, Personnel, Protective Force and Program Management.

May assume lead role in classification investigations and determinations as the lead classifier for the Kansas City Plant.

Serve as FM&T representative on DOE-NNSA sponsored quality panels tasked with development and implementation of policy and resolution of security program(s).

Thorough knowledge of DOE/NNSA policy and regulations.

May guide teams including coordination of activities and personnel providing leadership and direction.

Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment.

Takes actions necessary to 'stop' work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified.

You Must Have

U.S. Citizenship to obtain US Department of Energy "Q" level security clearance.

5+ years of security experience at a professional or management level.

Bachelor's degree in business, law enforcement, education, or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree.

Advanced degree preferred.
