Find your future with us.Boeing Defense Space and Security is currently looking for motivated, talented Structural and Payload Design Engineers to join the Direct Attack Structural and Mechanical Design team, part of Precision Engagement Systems (PES), located in St. Charles, MO.The Direct Attack Structural and Mechanical Design Team is a dynamic and growing team with leadership that is focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) programs. The programs we support in St. Charles, MO include JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC, B61TKA and associated derivatives utilized on various military aircraft, some ground-based platforms, and other future contract awards.In this position, you will innovate, develop, maintain and modify mechanical and structural systems and component designs, using 3-D Computer-Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.Position Responsibilities:

Assist to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design

Develop, maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle

Perform tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

Assist with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals

Support investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

1 or more years' experience with 3D modeling, 2D drawings and drawing packages

1 or more years’ engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experienced (Level 3): 3 or more years’ related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of education and engineering experience

Lead (Level 4): 5 or more years’ related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of education and engineering experience

Experience in applying engineering processes and principles

Experience/domain knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification and validation

Military aircraft, weapons and/or commercial aircraft structures experience

Experience with systems development and integration

Experience with Model-Based Engineering (MBE)

Experience working both independently and in team environments

Typical Education & Experience:Associate (Level 2):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Experienced (Level 3):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Lead (Level 4):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
