As an ALL LEVEL HS Math Teacher, you will deliver exceptional instruction and assess student growth. You are dedicated to constant learning and proactively provide academic and cultural support to your school and team. You are deeply committed to educational equity, building relationships with students and families so they are safe, seen, heard, and loved.Key Responsibilities:Instructional Delivery and AssessmentDevelop or internalize year-long Missouri State standards-based (or other curriculum-based), backwards-planned unit plans and lesson plans that meet all students’ learning needsUse assessment data to modify short and long-term plans in order to promote all students’ academic performanceImplement One KIPP adopted curriculum with full fidelityEmbrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvementMaintain accurate records, grade book, and data tracking systemsAcademic and Cultural SupportAssume personal responsibility for student achievementCollaborate with content and grade-level teams to promote an environment of critical thinking and academic rigorEstablish and maintain working relationships with students and families based on trust and respectParticipate in the daily functions of the school such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory dutiesAttend critical school events such as staff meetings, open houses, and student-led parent conferencesMeet professional obligations including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlinesExemplify the school cultural expectationsClassroom ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all children feel affirmed, valued and challenged every dayCreate rigorous, engaging unit and daily lesson plans leveraging provided curricula/resources (in most cases)Infuse core values into daily lessons and every school practice, implementing school-wide student culture systems and positive classroom management strategiesMaintain a productive, organized, safe, neat and focused learning environmentRegularly analyze student work and academic data to adjust lessons, refine curricula and inform instructional practicesProvide necessary accommodations and modifications for growth and success of all studentsMaintain accurate student grades/records and strong lines of communication with families regarding students’ growth and progressModel and implement all school policies within the classroomProfessional ResponsibilitiesTake ownership for the development of your craft (meet 1x/1-2 weeks with an instructional coach, implement feedback, engage in active practice, etc.)Actively engage in all school-wide professional developmentServe as a positive, contributing member of a grade team, collaborating with colleagues to tackle common challenges and implement grade-wideShare candid, solutions-oriented feedback with peers and school leadership on a regular basisAttend designated school functions outside of school hours (Back to School Night, Report Card Conferences, Community Events, etc.)Teach a multiple subjects within the discipline(special cases on individual basis)Contribute to the planning and execution of all school-wide eventsDevelop strong relationships with the families of students through home visits, participation in school events and phone calls homePerform necessary support duties including (but not limited to) bus, lunch, and dismissal dutiesChaperone field lessons/field tripsAdditional responsibilities may arise during the school year. They will be communicated to all employees with as much notice and flexibility as possible.Real World LearningDeliver high-quality, rigorous instruction directly connected to authentic, real-world learning experiences that promote college persistence, career exploration, and workforce readiness for all KIPPsters.Lead and facilitate transformative student experiences, including class-connected projects, professional mentorships, internships, and shadowing opportunities that bridge the classroom and the community.Teach a minimum of one to two core courses explicitly aligned with KIPP KC’s Real-World Learning initiatives, consistently integrating applied learning and interdisciplinary cognitive skills into daily instruction.Actively collaborate with students, staff, and regional industry partners to design meaningful learning experiences that provide students with professional exposure and measurable real-world outcomes.Organize and lead quarterly RWL Showcases at each grade level, providing a platform for KIPPsters to demonstrate their mastery, present their projects to community partners, and celebrate applied learning growth.Use student performance data and feedback from industry partners to continuously refine RWL experiences, ensuring they meet KIPP KC’s standards for academic excellence and 21st-century skill development.
