Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, economics, math/statistics, data science or other related field, or equivalent experience
Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
Experience and demonstrated skills in detail data analytics and related software and computer functions
Strong computer skills, excellent written and oral communications skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Highly motivated, excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability and willingness to complete both large, interesting projects and more routine tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subject matter experts, team members, and other leaders
Ability to travel up to 15% as needed, including overnight stays, driving and flying
Ability to pass a drug test and a background check
Advanced degree is a plus
Working knowledge of electric and gas utility operations are a plus
Experience in utility operations, planning, electricity markets, or related field, or understanding of transmission system planning, scheduling, billing, reporting, settlement and contract administration are a plus
Experience with federal regulations, ISO/RTO markets (preferably SPP), or regional policies that impact NorthWestern Energy's transmission business, and data science or programming experience, are a plus
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Read, analyze and apply complex data analytics to specific scenarios and help others do the same
Identify and contribute to internal process changes to respond to changes in federal regulatory requirements
Support NorthWestern Energy's transmission department's participation in regional stakeholders initiatives, including regional markets, NorthernGrid, WECC and SPP
Apply detail level data analytics, interpretation, and develop reports and presentations on the same
Support multiple business functions within electric transmission
Evaluate new technologies and their potential to impact and/or grow NorthWestern Energy's transmission business
Perform other duties or project as needed or assigned
Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Full-time position.$54,000 - $121,800 annually, depending on experience.
