BEWARE: Know these considerations before accepting a manufacturing position.

1) Why is this position available Is this where you get some training and then move on to "greener pastures", because they can't keep people?

2) Is the training program detailed, so you can easily increase your efficiency, or are you expected to struggle on your own? Bad habits can be hard to correct.

3) Do they know the difference between talking/chitchat, and real communication? Talking during work is lost production. Communication/instruction is necessary.

4) Are they resolving maintenance issues or letting them slide, expecting you to cope?

5) Does the plant manager respect you and your years of experience? Is the manager adept at any production steps, or just a figurehead (talking head) with no hands-on experience? That's really embarrassing, especially with only a few employees. What's the attitude likedistant, unhelpful?

8) Are they using any production principlesespecially the well-known, world-wide ones that produce superior efficiency that are used by professional manufacturing companies. Will they share and make a copy available? If not, BEWARE this is a lazy company! GOOD LUCK!
