Heavy Equipment Operators/Superintendents

The Heavy Equipment Operator/Superintendent ensures that daily civil site operations are conducted safely and effectively. Heavy equipment may include trucks, excavators, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, and other equipment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties listed below, including but not limited to the following:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Operates multiple equipment/tools efficiently.

Perform daily site safety and maintenance checks

Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required

Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored

Ability to communicate effectively with the supervisor.

Capability to read and interpret plans.

Perform organizing, cleaning, and inventory of work areas.

Works safely within the guidelines set forth by OSHA and the company’s safety policy.

Overseeing all activities pertaining to site preparation, placement, and installation of utilities

Consulting blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that structures are accurately placed and installed

Communicate with other construction crews/companies on timelines, maintaining compliance with established timelines

Delegating tasks to concrete laborers and providing overall guidance

Resolving all problems that may affect project quality and completion

Ensuring the site construction, material, and labor remain within established budgets

Ability to communicate effectively with the supervisors and staff.

Ensure equipment is maintained, cleaned, and secured consistently

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Valid Driver’s License

3-5 years’ heavy equipment operating experience.

Basic skills to complete essential paperwork, e-mail communications

Ability to read and interpret blueprint/plans and project specifications.
