GENERAL MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Midwest Shooting Center is looking for a self-motivated and results-driven General Manager to direct and manage our organization's business activities and to develop and implement effective business strategies and programs.

Duties for the General Manager will include managing resources, formulating policies, coordinating business operations, monitoring and motivating staff, managing operational costs, ensuring good customer service, improving administration processes, hiring and training employees, identifying business opportunities, and monitoring financial activities.

Your entrepreneurial spirit and vision in directing business functions will assist our organization in maintaining relationships with our members, generating new business, increasing staff productivity, improving service, ensuring safety, and meeting business objectives.

The successful candidate for this role should possess excellent communication skills, superior knowledge of business functions, exceptional budgeting and finance skills, and strong leadership qualities. A history in the firearms industry is not required.

General Manager Responsibilities:

Overseeing daily business operations and reporting to senior management.

Developing and implementing growth strategies.

Training junior-level managers and staff by leading daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings.

Creating and managing budgets.

Improving revenue.

Hiring employees.

Evaluating performance and productivity through monthly and quarterly evaluations.

Analyzing reports and adjusting the local business to ensure business performance remains strong.

Researching and identifying growth opportunities.

Generating reports and giving presentations.

Oversee facility compliance and safety standards.

Proactively direct range and retail associate operations in the facility

Ensure associates achieve and retain currency on required work center training and educational certifications

Create and implement effective staff schedule, ensuring adequate work center coverage

Ensure comprehensive safety standards are met for the facility and that safety is the foremost driving factor in daily operations; safety is paramount and will not become compromised

Ensure the facility maintains the standards of a NSSF 5-Star Rating

Ensure all compliance standards maintained with the ATF, OSHA, and EPA

Ensure all employees are onboarded appropriately

Ensure that a high-level of professionalism and customer service is maintained

Render quarterly evaluations to retail and associate staff members

Provide weekly tactical briefing to the General Manager of operational metrics, trends, opportunities and friction points

Complete and all-encompassing ownership of facility inventory and compliance.

Execute and maintain internal processes that ensure acquisitions, dispositions, storage, steel audits, non-NFA audits, Gunsmith audits, and ATF documentation are in compliance with ATF regulations.

Execute and maintain processes that ensure the facility complies with lead disposal, adequate lead testing, lead disposal, and employee lead exposure testing.

Ensure the facility meets monthly required Security System tests.

Input all inventory invoicing into accounting system.

Ensure routine inventory audits are completed throughout the facility each quarter.

Monitor inventory shrink.

Ensure 100% price accuracy, including verifying all pricing labels are up and accurate regarding correct price and current offer date.

Ensure RTV/Vendor Credits are accounted for.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

At least 2 years of successful management experience.

University, Vocational, or Military leadership training and experience a plus.

A four-year degree (especially in business) is a plus but not required

Compensation:

$55,000 to 72,000.00 per year DOE PLUS a percentage of net profits
