Volunteer Program Manager
Part-Time (25–30 hours/week) | Non-Profit Organization
About the Role -
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Volunteer Program Manager to oversee all aspects of our volunteer program. This position plays a key role in supporting our mission by managing a large and active volunteer team, ensuring a positive volunteer experience, and expanding our volunteer base. The ideal candidate will bring experience in volunteer coordination within a non-profit setting and the confidence to lead a growing program.
Responsibilities-
-Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding
-Develop and implement strategies to recruit new volunteers to support organizational needs.
-Manage screening, interviews, orientation, and training for new volunteers.
-Maintain accurate volunteer records and scheduling systems.
Volunteer Engagement & Management-
-Provide ongoing supervision, support, and communication to approximately 70 active volunteers.
-Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and mission-driven culture within the volunteer community.
-Monitor volunteer performance and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy.
-Collaborate with staff across departments to align volunteer assignments with program needs.
Events & Appreciation-
-Plan and coordinate two annual volunteer appreciation events (one in the summer and one around the New Year).
-Create opportunities for recognition, skill-building, and engagement throughout the year.
Program Development & Administration
-Assess the current program and develop strategies for growth and improvement.
-Track volunteer hours, program metrics, and impact data.
-Maintain volunteer management policies and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Qualifications
-Experience in volunteer management, community engagement, or a related field—preferably in a non-profit environment.
-Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
-Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
-Confidence in managing a high-volume volunteer program with professionalism and initiative.
-Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed.
-Proficiency with volunteer management software or willingness to learn.

Hours & Compensation
Part-time position: 25–30 hours per week
Starting pay: $20 per hour
Opportunity for the position to grow into full-time as the volunteer program expands and additional hours become warranted
