Actuarial Associate

Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., in Lincoln, Nebraska seeks Actuarial Associate.

Responsible for the compilation and implementation of data as it relates to risk assessment and problem-solving for Ameritas. Compiling and organizing statistical data for analysis using database software. Analyzing and estimating valuations regarding risk assessment and assumption perspectives based on data analyses. Administering new or updated insurance policies and various business plans for accurate financial reporting. Testing audit procedures throughout the department based on statistical findings to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Implementing new actuarial modernization plans throughout the Ameritas Actuary team. Researching and documenting model assumptions. Maintaining valuation actuarial controls documentation. Testing policy values and compliance with applicable regulations, product specifications, and assumption documentation. Note: Employee may be stationed anywhere in continental U.S, reporting to headquarters in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Education: Master’s Degree in Actuarial Science or closely related field (or foreign equivalent).

Requirements: 6 months of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Other special requirements include: 6 months of experience utilizing mathematical and statistical skills to contribute to the process of research and development of actuarial procedures; 6 months of experience acquiring knowledge to perform static and dynamic validation of actuarial models; 6 months of experience documenting data analysis research and findings for presentation; and 6 months of experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

In lieu of a Master’s Degree, employer will accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in actuarial science or closely related fields plus 2 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related position.
