Responsibilities – Director – Back of the House:

Leadership Focus

Build and develop a high-performance team through coaching, training, performance evaluations, and leading by example.

Hold Shift Leaders and Team Members accountable to operational standards to meet customer experience and profitability goals.

Conduct regular meetings with direct reports; represent the back of house team during Director meetings and Operator one-on-ones.

Financial Performance

Drive food cost management by controlling waste, preventing overproduction, following Lean Systems, and ensuring accurate waste tracking.

Oversee daily truck orders to maintain proper inventory levels and manage strategic labor scheduling to maximize food quality, order accuracy, and profitability.

Operations:

Open and/or close the restaurant, lead shifts as a key holder, and maintain operational excellence across back of house systems including Lean Systems, equipment maintenance, cleaning programs, and opening/closing procedures.

Lead quality assurance through daily SAFE Critical Checks, ERQA assessments (training provided), and preparation for scheduled and unscheduled health inspections.

Foster a culture of food safety and operational excellence, coaching team members consistently while delivering quality food quickly and accurately.

Qualifications/Requirements – Director – Back of the House:

Previous kitchen leadership experience

Proven track record of achieving business results

Strong background in food cost management

Ability to work 40–45 hours per week with open availability

Flexibility to adapt as business needs evolve

Bilingual preferred, but not required

High integrity and a relentless pursuit of excellence

Servant leadership mindset and positive attitude toward guests and team members

Coachable, collaborative, and open to feedback

Strong problem-solver, driven, and results-oriented

Optimistic and resilient when facing challenges

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

High school diploma or GED equivalent
