This position is in Cargill’s food ingredients and bio-industrial business, where we anticipate trends around taste, nutrition and safety to innovate and provide solutions to manufacturers, retailers and foodservice companies.Job Purpose and ImpactThe Capital Project Engineer will plan, support, and execute capital project engineering deliverables for one or more of our broad core technology or engineering areas. This role will oversee construction management, considering safety, schedule, efficiency, cost management and documentation. This professional will develop and apply engineering standards, project management procedures, and provide advice on issues within the engineering field.Key Accountabilities

Lead or participate in the development of capital project scope, schedule, and budget while following project management deliverables and best practices.

Help manufacturing plant and facilities engineers with facility planning and design.

Help conduct cost/inventory/production control and human factors studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revise operating methods.

Establish methods to maximize use of production facilities and personnel.

Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Minimum of two years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience leading capital projects

Ten years of related engineering experience

Demonstrated ability to execute large capital projects or portfolio of projects

Mechanical, Chemical or Ag/Biosystems Engineering degree
