Fleet TechnicianJob Description: Perform service, maintenance, and repair of all company tractor and trailer equipment as assigned. Conduct diagnostics and repairs of the tractor fleet including engines, transmissions, brake systems, ABS, electronic components, air systems, APU units, air conditioning/heating systems, and tractor body parts. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations through preventative maintenance.Responsibilities:
Perform service, maintenance, and repair of all company tractor and trailer equipment.
Conduct diagnostics and repairs of tractor fleet components including engines, transmissions, brake systems, ABS, electronic components, air systems, APU units, air conditioning/heating systems, and tractor body parts.
Perform preventative maintenance to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
Conduct quarterly inspections on fleet tractors and independent contractor equipment.
Install and/or de-install Qualcomm communication equipment on fleet tractors and independent contractor equipment.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair Qualcomm communication equipment.
Inspect tractors to prepare them for the next driver.
Drive trucks in and out of the shop before and after repairs.
Operate all equipment safely in compliance with established safety standards.
Maintain a clean, safe work area free of clutter and in compliance with established safety standards.
Accurately perform required documentation of equipment scheduled for inspection and repair in a timely manner.
De-identify equipment as assigned.
Perform general maintenance and clean-up of buildings and grounds including yard work, shop cleaning, trash pickup, sweeping, and snow removal.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Perform other duties and special projects as requested, directed, or assigned by management.
Pay: 20-35 ( Depending on experience)Essential Skills:
2+ years of fleet maintenance experience.
2+ years of mechanical-related experience in the transportation, heavy equipment, or automotive industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
1+ years of general knowledge and proficient use of a computer and computer programs for shop work orders and recordkeeping.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Advanced set of hand tools (wrenches, sockets, ratchets, etc.) and a rollaway toolbox.
Safety glasses and safety shoes (steel toe optional) are required.
