The IT manager's role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. The IT manager will plan, coordinate, direct and design IT-related activities of the organization while managing a small team of their own. The IT manager will work closely with decision-makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The IT manager will also define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices. Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:1. Lead the IT department's operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.2. Manage 2-3 direct reports3. Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals, and Office Automation equipment.4. Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.5. Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.6. Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.7. Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.8. Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.9. Establish and maintain regular communications with the organization's executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.10. Perform regular visits to all facilities to ensure there is forward progress with any implementation and correct any potential issues. RequirementsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field required. Previous experience working within IT at an engineering firm or manufacturing facility. A minimum of six years of related experience with progressive levels of responsibility is required. Must have solid time management and prioritization skills. A minimum of 2 years of recent experience working with ERP systems.Experience with Sage Products, Python, Dynamo, Revit, and/or BIM360 is preferred, but not required.
