This role will be filled commensurate on experience at the applicable (Technician or Apprentice level) based on the candidate's knowledge and experience. The position description used in this posting is representative of an Peaking Station Technician. Summary: Perform assigned functions necessary for the proper, safe and efficient operation and maintenance of equipment at the District's Peaking Stations and other District facilities as workload dictates. Responsibilities:

Perform orderly operation of generating units and equipment at the Peaking Stations.

¿ Operate combustion turbines or reciprocating engines safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.¿ Establish proper clearance of equipment for safe, event-free maintenance activities.¿ Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate control systems and field instrumentation, maintain test equipment and keep timely accurate records.¿ Complete routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of all electrical and mechanical equipment. Assist in major equipment maintenance. Support condition monitoring tasks, including routinely inspecting and testing the condition of equipment to assure proper function of all components.¿ Maintain timely, accurate records that reflect plant activities/status including proper documentation of maintenance.

Routinely act as lead person in coordinating crew activities.

Assist with work coordination, and resolution of escalated issues to support a safe efficient and effective work environment.

Monitor, coach and train subordinate personnel.

Qualifications

Required:

Requires a high degree of mechanical and electrical aptitude , a knowledge of electronics, instrument functions and of electrical and control systems equivalent to that of a senior I&C technician.

Completion of the OPPD Operational training requirements for the specific Peaking Station location within one (1) year.

Must have the ability to troubleshoot computer-controlled processes, diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, and understand and use drawings, schematics, logic diagrams, equipment procedures, and manuals.

Basic understanding of computer programming and PLC ladder logic.

Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.

A valid driver's license.

Desired:

Advanced understanding of computer programming and PLC ladder logic desired.

Experience in operating and maintaining combustion turbines .
