Job Description: Devops Engineer

100% Remote

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Roles and responsibilities:
  • Provide setup, configuration, support, troubleshooting of our applications to multiple environments.
  • Ability to handle multiple on-going assignments and be able to work independently in addition to contributing as part of a highly collaborative team.
  • Desire to provide excellent client service through strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills with the ability to break down and communicate complex issues, ideas, and solutions.
  • Be able to create and articulate implementation options and tradeoff to peers, tech leads, and management.
  • Ability to clearly document the related management and support procedures.
  • Ability to build a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Ability to learn and quickly ramp-up on new / emerging technologies through multiple methods, including independent research and self-study.
  • Automating away inefficiencies and improving the overall quality and reliability of software and applications.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant backend software support experience and a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years Unix / Linux experience
  • Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Salt, Puppet, etc.)
  • Containerization, Cloud provisioning and support experience (preferably in PCF, Google Cloud Platform and AWS) a plus
  • Relevant experience with Node.js server-side JavaScript is preferred
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (shell, perl, python, ruby)
  • Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN & NAS)
  • Knowledge of Virtual machines (VMware)
  • Have a good understanding of common network services, i.e. DNS, DHCP, NTP services.
  • Know the basics of configuration management tools like Puppet or Chef
  • Identify areas of enhancement and deploy automated processes to minimize human intervention.
  • Responsible for the integrity and security of the servers by following established security protocols and practices
