Shipping & Receiving Lead$28.82 | Valley, NEDescription:The Lead person is to assist the Shipping Department Supervisor to ensure that employees on his/her assigned shift have the tools, equipment, and functional support they need to finish parts and complete orders per customer requests and company specifications. The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong interpersonal skills and will be expected to serve as a positive role-model for others by demonstrating safe work habits, a strong commitment to quality and efficiency, and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.Responsibilities:

Facilitate daily pre-shift meetings with all shift employees, including safety, daily workload review, and communication of other relevant information as needed

Responsible for line balancing, people positioning and work scheduling to attain daily PRO(productivity) targets

Coordinate scheduling as needed to ensure necessary overlap assignments to cover vacancies

Use forklift to move parts or tubes in order to keep line flowing efficiently

Lead training of new employees

Maintain accurate daily record keeping and documents as required

Orders supplies as needed

Qualifications:

Ability to operate a forklift

Ability to train others in various department duties throughout the department

Skill in keeping accurate records, inventory, inspecting finished product for quality, and strong attention to detail

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to apply sound judgment and to work independently toward team and department goals

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to co-workers, supervisors, and employees from other departments

The ability to work overtime as needed

Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Shift / Work Environment

Monday - Friday: 7am - 3pm

Heavy Industrial Environment

Not temperature controlled but warm during the winters and can be very hot during the summers

Team Size: Overseeing a team of 8-10 individuals

Dress: Steel toed boots, jeans and a work shirt
