Staff Accountant

Based in the Omaha, Nebraska area, this role is a career-building, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. You might be a good fit for this position if you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. This is a position you will thrive in, if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.Your responsibilities

Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

Take part in various department-wide initiatives

Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations Requirements - Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

Competent with spreadsheets and databases

Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

Knowledgeable of ERP systems

Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Excellent attention to detail

Knowledge of Financial Statement

Experience with bank reconciliations

Account reconciliation experience preferred

Proficiency in financial statement preparation

Solid understanding of month end closings

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
