Description We are in the process of recruiting a Controller to join our team based in Reno, Nevada. This role is integral to our company's growth and strategy, and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute beyond traditional accounting tasks. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and finance functions, including monthly financials, reporting, transactional bookkeeping, and operations.Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the preparation of financial reports, including expense reports, balance sheets, and profit/loss statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis Manage inventory and purchasing activities for the company Assist with the financial planning of the business Coordinate and prepare monthly financial reports for both internal and external use Facilitate the annual budget process and manage quarterly budget changes, providing monthly budget variance analysis Oversee month-end close processes, including the preparation and review of all balance sheet reconciliations Manage the annual tax process, including revenue taxes for states where we conduct business Prepare necessary analytics for the company, such as KPIs, and respond to any other ad-hoc requests Implement necessary controls for accounting and other departments within the company Maintain accurate physical and digital records of all transactions and paperwork Perform regular backups of the accounting data Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of technology systems and process improvements that facilitate efficient scaling Oversee end of year tax paperwork for external CPA firm Work directly with the CEO on financial-related requests and projects, such as budgeting and internal financial reporting Requirements Must have at least 10 years of experience in a Controller or similar role. Proficiency in Financial Statement Preparation is required. Proven experience with Month End Close processes. Demonstrated expertise in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations is necessary. Experience in Inventory Analysis and Inventory Controls is a must. Should be adept at managing Purchasing Activities. Expertise in Account Reconciliation is required. Familiarity with Journal Entries is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary. Experience with Point of Sale systems is a plus.
