Description We are in the process of hiring a Tax Director/Manager for a publicly traded metals and mining company based in Las Vegas, NV and with operations in multiple states. The person in this role will oversee and lead the tax functions of our company with a specific focus on income tax provisions, federal and state income taxes, and tax planning. The role requires extensive interaction with the leadership team, various internal departments, and external auditors and tax advisors.Responsibilities: Oversee the tax functions, activities, and requirements for the company Identify and lead improvements of internal processes, including the use of tax technology tools to automate workflows Ensure compliance of tax activities for the company and work with external auditors and outside tax advisors Review prepared income tax disclosures and footnotes in alignment with SEC and PCAOB requirements Plan and manage the preparation of state and federal tax returns Monitor legislative changes and communicate impacts to the leadership team Interpret and research applicable implications of tax laws and the U.S. tax code Provide guidance on proposed and enacted tax legislation, keeping abreast of tax law changes in the US and foreign jurisdictions to manage risk and identify potential planning opportunities Oversee all aspects of the tax forecasting process Plan, direct, and execute various tax projects, including those regarding state and local taxes, sales and use taxes, and other tax-related topics Perform research, review, and prepare technical tax memorandums.Requirements Must have a minimum of 10-15+ years of accounting and tax experience including public accounting, and corporate tax. Experience with Annual Income Tax Provision, Annual Tax Provision, Complex Tax Return, Consolidated Tax Return, and Corporate Income Tax Background in Corporate Tax Compliance, Corporate Tax Return, Federal Income Tax, Federal Income Tax Return, and Federal Tax Must have dealt with Federal Tax Return, Federal Taxes, Income Tax Provision, Income Tax Accounting, and Income Tax Audits Familiarity with Income Tax Compliance, Income Tax Return, Indirect Tax, Indirect Tax Compliance, and Individual Tax Return International Tax Compliance experience is a must Should be able to manage and lead a team effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (Master's degree & CPA strongly preferred)Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
