Gas Station / Convenience Store Cashier – Job Description ($16 - $20/hr)

Position Summary

The Cashier is the face of the store, responsible for delivering excellent customer service, ensuring accurate transactions, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. This position supports daily store operations and provides a positive experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner

Operate POS system; process cash, credit, gaming, fuel, tobacco, and alcohol sales

Verify ID for alcohol and tobacco purchases—must be 21+ by law

Maintain clean and stocked cashier area, coolers, shelves, and restrooms

Prepare simple food and beverage items (if applicable)

Monitor fuel pumps and forecourt area for safety and compliance

Receive and stock deliveries

Follow all company procedures for cash handling, loss prevention, and safety

Assist with opening/closing duties as assigned

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old

Customer service experience preferred

Able to work flexible shifts (nights, weekends, holidays)

Basic math and POS familiarity

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
