GIS Analyst - Long Term Project - Must be on site a few days a week to start, and then may work remotely, with 1 day a month on site. (PST). Work is Mon - Thursday. Genuent's direct Goverment client is in need of a GIS Analyst for a 12-month, extendable Contract in Henderson, NV. Qualified Candidates, please email your professional resume to Matthew Williams at GIS Analyst (Henderson NV)Role: The purpose of this task order is to bring aboard a GIS Analyst Contractor to perform data maintenance and updates, support duties, and other GIS-related activity (e.g., automation through Pythan scripting, master address updates, updates related to annexations, and map and data requests). This GIS Analyst Contractor will take on workload from existing GIS staff to allow them to focus on project priorities. REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Manages and analyzes spatial and attribute data and applies sound data administration and management practices utilizing principles of GIS. Creates metadata, used to describe spatial data.
  • Exercises independent judgment and initiative to evaluate and develop GIS solutions in response to a wide variety of internal and external customer requests, including research, analysis, specialized datasets, and provides feedback in multiple formats.
  • Utilizes GIS software and techniques to perform specialized spatial analysis to develop and implement digital data, database files, reports, custom maps, internet maps, and e-books.
  • Develops and maintains quality control standards to ensure products, as well as spatial and attribute data, are in compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Three (3) years of professional, related experience in developing and implementing automated geographic information systems.
  • Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered.
  • Possesses: Thorough knowledge of data entry procedures; GIS principles and practice of planning and municipal operation, cartographic composition, graphic simulation, computer aided design, and systems development; ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing; understand and follow oral and written instructions; function effectively in a team setting and work independently when required, conduct research and analysis; organize work load assignments; establish and maintain effective working relationships.
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in GIS/Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with SQL and Python.
  • Experience editing in ArcGIS Pro
