Currently, we are seeking a qualified Electrical Instructor for our Sawmill Technical Education Program (STEP) based out of Anderson, California.

About the Position

Develop engaging lessons and practical exercises on industrial electrical technology that align with industry standards

Lead classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory work to enhance practical skills, covering topics like motor controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and advanced automated systems

Supervise students in lab settings, demonstrate safe electrical techniques, and provide guidance on troubleshooting and maintenance

Utilize various teaching methods to support different learning styles

Stay current with industry trends and advancements to ensure curriculum relevance

Collaborate with manufacturing divisions to align course content with workforce needs

Maintain accurate records of attendance and progress, evaluating performance and providing effective feedback

Motivate students for optimum engagement and knowledge retention

Provide practical guidance and mentorship to students

Communicate with managers on student progress and class engagement

Maintain organized lab, equipment, and supplies for best learning experience

Qualifications

2-year or higher technical degree in a relevant field or Journeyman Electrician Certification, with 2 years of related field experience

Minimum 4 years industrial electrical experience with verifiable proficiency in listed duties may be considered, absent technical degree/certificationExperience installing encoders, linear transducers, vision systems, and other advanced sensors

Working experience with servo and hydraulic motion control and tuning is preferred

Experience teaching or training, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly is preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teaching and building rapport with students

Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others

Proven strong working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and HMIs

Demonstrated knowledge of 480V, 3-phase motors, motor control circuits, and electrical and hydraulic systems

Proven ability to commission, program, and troubleshoot VFDs

Knowledge of programming structures and techniques such as PID, data handling, UDTs is preferred

Demonstrated ability to manage time and priorities under demanding circumstances
