Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician to execute complex low-voltage system installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in security, surveillance, fire alarm, telecommunication, and networking systems, with the ability to ensure high-quality service delivery. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and construction practices related to low-voltage infrastructure. The Low Voltage Technician will play a crucial role in project planning, system design, and field service operations, ensuring client satisfaction and system integrity.

Responsibilities

Installation, configuration, and maintenance of low-voltage systems, including CCTV, IDS, sensors, security systems, fire alarms, and access control.

Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately implement system designs.

Oversee cabling and wiring tasks using hand tools and power tools while adhering to NEC standards and safety protocols.

Conduct system testing for remote access software, surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and telecommunication networks to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshoot complex issues related to computer networking, hardware integration, and electrical components in various environments, including construction sites.

Provide technical guidance to team members during field service operations and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Manage system upgrades, repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules for low-voltage infrastructure projects.

Collaborate with clients to assess needs for alarm system sales or security solutions; provide expert recommendations based on system design principles.

Ensure all work complies with safety regulations such as NEC codes and industry best practices for low-voltage electrical work.

Document project progress and maintain detailed records of system configurations and service activities.

Experience

Proven experience as a Service Technician or Field Service Technician specializing in low voltage systems such as CCTV, security alarms, sensors, fire alarms, or telecommunication networks.

Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts, including remote access software integration.

Mechanical knowledge related to construction practices involving cabling, conduit installation, and power tools.

Demonstrated ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams accurately.

Familiarity with industry standards such as NEC codes for low-voltage wiring and electrical safety procedures.

Experience working with a team of technicians or overseeing installation projects is highly preferred.

Strong background in surveillance systems installation, including CCTV cameras and sensor integration.

Knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), alarm system sales processes, locksmithing basics, and security system design is advantageous.
