The

Manager Data Governance oversees all organizational data governance activities, improves quality management protection of sensitive data, and information assets. Establishes and ensures adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards, and practices, both at the department and business unit areas, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, and protection to meet overall organizational needs. Serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues. Works closely with business units, functional areas of leadership, and data stewardship stakeholders to improve the quality value of core data assets. Responds to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the IT department. Responsible for developing and leading the strategy for data governance, master data, meta data, referential data management, and data quality initiatives. Defines and builds the data governance program, ensures adoption of good data management practices through engagement with and identification of data owners and stewards across the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Manages the Data Governance team who documents, maintains, and supports the enterprise data strategy platform, Business Intelligence tools and their data assets. Develops effective teams and provides guidance and direction for direct reports, ensuring understanding of roles and responsibilities.
  • Creates governance surrounding data management through education, engagement, and alignment with data stakeholders across business units. Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company's principal information assets.
  • Collaborates with business unit leaders and key stakeholders to develop policies, standards, and a framework for data governance. Implements and maintains a data governance organizational structure and supporting governance solutions that promote better decision-making, operational efficiencies, and data quality.
  • Executes and delivers an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools, and data architecture. Defines indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensures compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.
  • Establishes and governs an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic short-term and mid-term priorities for development of information-based capabilities. Develops and maintains inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems and owners.
  • Builds and manages relationships with vendors, ensuring that contractual obligations are met, and work product is of high quality.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Business Management and/or related required.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Management and/or related preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in data governance, data management, data operations and/or related.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a managerial and/or leadership role required.
  • Advanced experience leading data governance and/or master data, reference data, and meta data management initiatives.
  • Advanced technical expertise in SQL, data modeling, integrations, and business intelligence tools
  • Excellent verbal, written and executive presentation skills.

For positions that are permitted or required to work remotely, employees may conduct work only within the United States and only in states where the Company is already conducting business, unless for brief periods, consistent with Company policy.

In the states of Colorado, California and Washington, the anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $105,000 to $150,150. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.

  • Position is also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in medical, dental and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts and/or health savings accounts; dependent savings accounts; 401(k) with company matching contributions; employee stock purchase plan; and, a tuition reimbursement program. The Company provides 9 paid holidays per year and, upon hire, new employees will accrue paid time off (PTO) at a rate of 0.0577 hours of PTO per hour worked, up to a maximum of 120 hours per year.
