Amentum is seeking a Munitions Handler Supervisor to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Munitions Handler Supervisor will report to the Demil Operations Manager and will be responsible for direction and oversight of all activities conducted with demilitarization of munitions.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. ​Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for direction and oversight of all assigned team members for the performance of demilitarization of munitions.

Responsible for executing all orders and directives received from the ADO Manager.

Will make decisions on personnel utilization to accomplish work, ensuring areas are not overloaded beyond explosive limits set by site Safety Department.

Direct supervisor for munition handlers, munition destroyers, and munition controllers.

Oversee various demilitarization processes as tasked.

Performs all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

Monitor and evaluate progress toward operational goals, continually seeking efficiency improvements.

Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs as directed.

Follows specific direction of the ADO Superintendent and ADO Manager, and as necessary reports issues/concerns accordingly.

May serve in absence of ADO Superintendent if necessary.

Assist in certification process by active (OJT) to promote certification.

Inspects tools, material, and equipment for safety and maintains constant vigilance through the visual inspection to prevent accidents.

Will perform risk management to minimize potential risks.

Ensures that high levels of housekeeping are maintained in work areas, supervises dunnage and trash removal, continuously providing a safe and secure work area.

Must ensure all doors and windows are properly secure in work areas. May supervise other duties as assigned and may be reassigned to other supervisory locations as workload fluctuates.

May operate or supervise the operation of computer-based programs such as the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) and AIT scanning tools.

Provides input into safety, environmental and security requirements for Demilitarization Operations. Ensures compliance with Company and government guidelines and regulations pertaining to the responsibilities of this position.

Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty, as needed.

Counsel assigned personnel on company policies, procedures, performance, personnel, safety issues.

Assess and monitor employee fitness-for-duty. Interpret policy and recommend hiring/discipline/discharge.

Maintains high ethical standards, overall values of the business, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct to include cooperating during Company investigations; treat all individuals fairly and with respect. Reports potential or known safety or environmental hazards to the appropriate dept. or personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

18 years old and have High School diploma/equivalent

At least 7 years’ experience in ammunition demilitarization activities or a combination of education and experience.

3 years Supervisor level experience

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license.

Must satisfactory complete the Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working Ammunition Operations required by AMC Regulation 350-4 within 90 days of hire.

Must be able to research and have the foresight to properly staff for anticipated or projected workloads while adhering to the governing PWS and contractual requirements and must be able to prepare bid and pricing information.

Must be be able to communicate in an effective and professional manner, in English, using all std. forms of business communication. Must possess sufficinet computer hardware and software proficinecy to be able to perform all job duties in a timely, professional and effective manner.

Must be able to obtain and maintain all certificates as required by Amentum’s Master Training Plan.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada driver’s license. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.

Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts.

Must be willing and able to be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.

Must be willing and able to work in a procedurally, environmental and safety compliant environment.

Must be willing and able to wear various levels of personal protective equipment.

Intermediate knowledge of LMP

Must possess a high degree of knowledge of safety, environmental, security, contractual and regulatory requirements for Supply Depot Operations.

Must be willing and able to wear various levels of personal protective equipment.

Must have knowledge or proficiency in all tasks in accountability.

Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

Desired Qualifications:

Government contracting experience highly desirable.

Experience in Work Management/Controls.

Effective communication, including speaking, writing and active listening.
