Summary of Position: To assure the smooth delivery of resources and referrals to victims of domestic violence through management and implementation of the following services.
Victims Services:
Attend tri-weekly arraignment hearings, documenting pleadings, bail conditions, and continuations.
Directly assist victims with completing TPO and Stalking Applications
Accompany victims to TPO and Stalking hearings.
Provides support, information, technical assistance, confidentiality, advocacy, resources and referral to victims.
Monitor cases involving domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
Assist victims in completing Victims of Crime compensation forms.
Document physical effects of domestic violence utilizing body charts and photos.
Conduct follow-up with victims as outlined.
Collect police reports providing follow-up to victims via phone contact.
Maintain and update client files.
Maintain database on both victims and perpetrators.
Maintain open communications with both Justice Court Personnel and District Attorney staff.
Accompany victims to District Court hearings and trials when necessary.
General Responsibilities:
Maintain client files.
Maintain all data for reporting purposes.
Communicate regularly with office staff, attend staff meetings.
Participate in office and fundraising functions.
Basic understanding of the issues of all types of discrimination.
Assume other responsibilities as directed by the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors.
Preferred Basic Requirements:
A.A. Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Familiarity with all office procedures and machines, good writing skills. Computer knowledge-word processing necessary. Ability
to work with a variety of people with differing backgrounds, perspectives, and positions. Spanish speaking preferred.
