Senior Systems Engineer

Description

• Multiple years in a senior Systems Engineer (5+ years)
• Industry certification for core discipline: RHCE, Linux +, NCDA, VCP, etc.
• Strong applied knowledge of Authentication/Authorization systems and integrations, primarily LDAP.
• Strong knowledge and experience in enterprise virtualization environments.
• Responsible for implementing, tuning, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting systems. Dell/Cisco/Netapp/F5 infrastructure
• Actively seeks out opportunities to improve existing practices, procedures, and technology implementations.
• Defines, monitors, and troubleshoots system performance within the environment through the use of KPI's.
• Advanced enterprise logging and monitoring experience to ensure all services. Direct experience with monitoring tools like Nagios and SIEM such as SumoLogic and Graylog.
• Applied automation experience through technologies Like Ansible, Puppet, etc.
• Develops and maintains operational and installation guidelines for the maintenance and support of the infrastructure.
• Manage and perform patch and software distributions and manage security configuration of the systems. Automation and hands on experience key.
• Experience performing security assessments
• Perform root cause analysis of service problems and develop solutions.
• Ownership of BCDR process for all services associated with job responsibility.
• Ability to program/script and identify tasks which should be automated and then write tools to automate them.
• Strong understanding of networking, load balancing, principles of routing, shared hosted environments, and datacenter
• Strong knowledge of SAN/NAS protocols; primarily iSCSI, NFS, CIFS
• Multiple years working in a high available hybrid cloud environment where uptime is critical.
• Ability to safely lift up to 40lbs
• Communicate clearly over the phone
• Must be able to bend, kneel and get to equipment beneath a desk or on the floor
• Must be able to climb a ladder safely to access equipment that may be located in a ceiling or high on shelving
• Willingness to walk a lot as this position will take you away from your desk often
