The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, accounts payable and accounts receivable. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. This Sparks, Nevada based firm has a short-term contract / temporary position available, and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.How you will make an impact
Maintain journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Process AP/AR
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Partake in annual closing processes
Requirements - Recent and relevant accounting experience
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
Adeptness in Prepare Bank Deposits
Check Runs experience preferred
General ledger experience
Solid understanding of journal entries
Demonstrated knowledge of Month-end Close Activities
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience preferred
Use tax experience
