Description

The Application Architect organizes the lifecycle of new development on future and existing products. This includes reviewing product requirements, designing product architecture, and managing daily product development efforts. You will be responsible for managing complex interactions between business processes and technologies as well as translating product specifications into production level applications.

Major responsibilities

- Invent and document solutions to product specifications for shared capabilities throughout the architecture.

- Conduct code reviews identifying best practices and efficiency steps for increased stability and capability.

- Define and evolve development standards, guidelines, procedures, processes, and metrics.

- Assist in product release planning and helps assess feature viability/effort.

- Manage the timeline for product development.

- Manage the deployment of alpha and beta releases during the stabilization of new product development.

- Complete other related duties as assigned by management.

- Provide technical and non-technical mentorship and oversight to developers.

- Work with the product team to understand requirements and create functionality specifications.

- Assist in writing the technical section of functional specifications for new product development.

- Help team members so that they grow abilities and strengthen capabilities.

- Design, establish, and maintain technical architecture standards and develop cross-product frameworks and best practices.

- Play a hands-on role in code development for web-based n-tier applications.

Requirements

- 10+ years of experience in application development, software design, and architecture. Hands on experience with Java, Spring Frameworks, Javascript, Typescript, React.js, Node.js, AWS

- Experience with creating realistic plans, goals, and aligning plans with company goals, managing resources, and creating contingency plans.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation experience.

- Ability to work independently and lead small teams.

- Ability to create, debug, secure, test, and optimize code for multiple web-based applications and services.

- Software development language skills preferred.

- Ability to learn new technologies related to the Web and application development.

- Consulting experience with business analysis, data management, system architecture, and distributed technologies.

- Experience decomposing and prioritizing components of large systems.

- Ability to evaluate an existing architecture and document issues and suggested improvements.

- BA/BS in Software Engineering or Computer Science.

- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

- 5+ years of experience in team management in a related field.

- Excellent understanding of database design.

- Proficient with threading, asynchronous event handling, data binding, scripting and query languages/tools.
