The Opportunity: The Associate Manager, Record to Report (R2R) is responsible for oversight of month-end close and day-to-day activities, including and not limited to, timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions, account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and leading a consistent General Ledger process. The role will require excellent communication skills and the ability work with all levels of internal stakeholders and business partners. This position is located at our East Aurora, NY campus and sits at our East Aurora Mattel Global Shared Services center, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Mattel Global Shared Services. The position currently works a hybrid schedule.What Your Impact Will Be:  Directs and provides guidance to Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) off-site team of 5-7 staff on R2R processesReviews Account reconciliations, ensuring appropriate documentation to support transactions, accuracy, and timely resolutionResponsible for Oracle setup in R2R module; including, creating mass allocations, updating chart of accounts/cross validation rules, currency rate setup, mapping from legacy system to OracleCompletes month-end closing procedures, including management of Oracle system open/close processesSubject Matter Expert of the Oracle General LedgerParticipates in process improvements to ensure operations are streamlined and efficientResponds and assists Business Units with questions, resolving issues and providing recommendationsCoordinates with IT department for system issues, maintenance, and developmentAssists in developing and recommending changes to accounting policies, procedures, and processesProvides documentation to internal and external audit as necessary for SOX controls as well as review and approval of SOX testing after month-endProvides schedules and disclosures for Corporate reporting, tax department, external auditors, company secretaryAssists in training, support, and review of work of junior members of the team to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and complianceAssists Regional Lead in the development of standard operating proceduresAssists Regional Lead in the results of team activities and metrics
