OpportunityThe Buyer is responsible for driving the development and implementation of procurement and inventory strategies. This position requires a results-oriented, analytical person who is able to successfully combine a savvy interpersonal style with strong business acumen. This position has responsibility for ensuring material planning and delivery meet both internal and external client requirements, as well as building a first-class supplier base that delivers on time, on quality and on cost.    Key Areas of ResponsibilityEnsure accurate and timely purchase order creation and goods receipt to support production activities and client requirements.Perform supply analysis to ensure purchase decisions will meet internal production, external customer, and safety stock needs while reducing on hand inventory.  Identify and ensure disconnects - such as anticipated product shortages, non-conforming materials, and excess materials - are continuously monitored and resolved. Manage supplier relationships, build effective partnerships, evaluate the need for new suppliers, and develop new suppliers as needed.Evaluate supplier performance to improve product quality, supplier communication, on-time delivery, lead time improvement, and competitive pricing. Provide supplier coaching as appropriate to improve overall supply chain effectiveness.Conduct competitive bids when needed, review and analyze supplier proposals, as well as negotiate price and delivery terms to meet saving objectives.Work closely with Client Services, Finance and Operations for material setup, billing and tooling requirements.Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures and internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act 2002 Section 404.
