Construction Engineer

AECOM has a position available for a Construction Engineer to join our Transportation Construction Business Line supporting large multi-year projects as part of the Transportation construction management team. The projects include Transit infrastructure improvements throughout the NY Metro Region and in NJ. The responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to, the following:Under direct supervision, performs routine duties requiring knowledge of basic engineering principlesLimited exercise of judgment is required on details of workPerforms specific and limited portions of broader assignmentsSpends large percentage of time performing estimating take-offs and performing walk-downs for quantity tracking purposes, reporting of installed quantities, performing field inspections to verify adherence to designRequired to work in the Field at an off site Field OfficeRequired to take additional client orientated Field and Safety TrainingAssists in the preparation and review of construction drawings, specifications, and other technical documentsParticipates in site surveys and investigations to gather data for project planning and designCollaborates with project managers and senior engineers to develop construction schedules and budgetsMonitors construction progress and prepares daily/weekly reports on project statusAssists in the coordination of subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and servicesParticipates in quality control inspections and ensures compliance with project specifications and safety standardsHelps in the resolution of field problems and coordinates with design teams for necessary changesUtilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant technologies for project documentation and analysisAttends project meetings and contributes to discussions on technical issues and project progress
