Summary: Facebook is seeking an Electrical Engineer experienced in the design of Critical Facilities equipment. The mission of the Data Center Equipment Strategy (DES) team is to develop the best data center equipment vendors in the industry and to implement those innovations into our data centers in a predictable and repeatable manner.Required Skills: Electrical Engineer, Data Center Equipment Strategy Responsibilities:Evaluate new technologies and collaborate with supply base to transfer those innovations to manufactured equipment.

Conduct pilot or proof of concept projects to evaluate benefits and feasibility of the solution for broader deployment.

Develop strategic partnership with key vendors to gain insight into new product development roadmaps.

Provide technical due diligence review and evaluation of new factories, new equipment of existing vendors, new vendors, and new equipment.

Evaluate electrical equipment change requests from both internal and external stakeholders and approve all additions and revisions of electrical equipment to the Approved Product List (APL).

Develop strong industry relationships with other data center peers and organizations to maintain current on industry trends and future directions.

Up to 25% travel domestically and internationally.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience.

10+ years of work experience in data center design, construction, operations, maintenance or R&D.

Experience with high voltage (100kV300kV) substation design, medium voltage (2KV-40KV) distribution and protection, mission critical power distribution protection and automation, generators, UPS, Building Management System, and electrical safety programs.

Experience in medium voltage and low voltage electrical power generation, distribution, protection, and control equipment vendors and products.

Experience in transmission, distribution, and utility interconnection processes.

Experience with industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, NFPA, UL, UFC and UBC.

Experience in international standards including IEC, CE and EN.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:Experience with construction process, cost estimating process, and BOM structures.

Cross-discipline experience in complete critical facility systems.

Electrical Professional Engineer registration.
