Job Description
The Events Specialist will support the Avery Dennison Smartrac division. The role will be responsible for developing and executing our events strategy globally. This position supports the business in its ambitious targets to raise awareness of our brand across multiple market segments, including apparel, beauty, food, pharma, automotive, and other industrial segments. Events activity will include both virtual and live large scale trade shows, brand and partnership activity, customer networking events, sponsorship management and speaker opportunities.This is a fast paced multi-faceted role that requires someone with demonstrable project management skills, ambition to play a crucial role in building the Avery Dennison brand and a passion for events.In this position you’ll be reporting to the Sr, Marketing Manager, Partnerships and Programs.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TO THE TEAM:

Manage the planning, production and execution of all domestic and international trade shows and events, including physical and digital events such as webinars, speaker panels, and customer events, budget management and input on annual strategy
Be able to provide strategic direction for the annual events plan
Collaborate with the wider Marketing and PR team to ensure all activity is aligned with the business strategy
Collaborate with the wider Marketing and PR team to create messaging, collateral and presentations associated with events
Develop and lead the project management for events globally, ensuring that each action has an owner and deadlines are met
Communicate and collaborate effectively with the wider Marketing team and business stakeholders to ensure that events meet business objectives
Manage relationships with vendors
Ensure events integrate seamlessly with multi-channel campaigns and customer communication activity
Be the main point of contact for all events planning and logistics, ensuring that sign off deadlines are met and teams are well informed
Lead the event team on the ground and ensure that events run smoothly and challenges are faced with a solution driven approach
Collaborate with the corporate social media team to ensure events and activity are promoted in the moment
Create recap decks addressing successes and key learnings
Draft and prepare copy to promote the event through our website, customer communications, and post show highlights.
Assist with invoice processing and budget maintenance
Coordinating paperwork
Assist with arranging freight for delivery and pick up to and from show site
Be on site for all tradeshow build outs as scheduling allows; act as point person and project leader when Marketing Manager is unable to attend
Research prospective future trade shows, present ideas to Marketing Manager(s)
Research, source, and distribute props (fixture packages, display, furnishings, etc.) for trade shows and events
Manage event inventory and assets.
Qualifications
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years events and project management experience in an apparel/fashion/technology environment
Hands on, solutions-oriented attitude with a strong commitment to strive for organizational success
Experience in proactive outreach and in driving action and execution and collaborating with peers for a shared positive outcome for the business
Strength in leading and driving multiple large complex projects simultaneously
Willingness and ability to take accountability and with a positive attitude
Strategic thinker with an ability to align all activity to help drive commercial goals
Proven track record of ‘thinking outside the box’
Excellent organizational skills
Proven record of attention to detail
Excellent writing, editing, and presentation abilities, with the ability to develop engaging content for event promotion and post show recaps.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
Understanding of digital marketing landscape and best practices, with an emphasis on social media, email communications, and the web
Experience working effectively across diverse cultures and operating structures; proven ability to excel in a global environment
Experience working with content creators (videographers, photographers etc.)
Ability and willingness to travel
Team player
Multi-tasker with ability to juggle multiple projects
Analytical with a strategic approach to problem-solving
Strong copywriting skills; ability to contribute creative ideas for innovative content
