Food Program Specialist

Job Description

As a Food Program Specialist, you will be responsible for operational and administrative support of Etsy Brooklyn’s food program and events for the Workplace team. We are looking for someone who is meticulously organized, detail oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for engaging employees through food and events. Etsy’s Workplace Team is a global group with a diverse set of backgrounds in building management, design/space planning, fabrication, operations, food sourcing, events, and sustainability.

Qualifications

In this role you will:

• Coordinate Etsy's pantry food service, recording data about consumption and rotation of products, and collaborating with contractors to ensure timely, food-safe execution.

• Organize, maintain, and assist with inventory to maintain stock levels and improve daily operational efficiency.

• Maintain attractive, clean, and well-stocked food and beverage service areas. Ensure that dining and pantry areas are kept tidy, operational, and welcoming.

• Ensure food is served, received, stored, and labeled in compliance with NYSDOH standards.

• Share responsibility for responding to all Workplace-related slacks and Zendesk tickets in a timely manner and with an emphasis on employee experience. Report higher-level issues to the manager and track progress until resolved.

• Facilitate food donations to those in need in accordance with NYSDOH regulations.

• Coordinate, administer, and help implement office CSA program.

• Assist with food preparation and receiving as needed.

Ideally you’ll have:

• 2-3 years hands-on experience in the food industry and a deep appreciation and understanding of food.

• A strong operational background with a high attention to detail.

• Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in an environment of shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills, alongside creativity and passion.

• A true multi-tasker mentality, and are able to coordinate several projects simultaneously.

• Strong written and verbal communication with a focus on customer service.

• An appreciation for a well-organized walk-in and the skills to maintain one.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule for special events: some early mornings, some evenings, and the occasional weekend.

• A valid NYS Food Protection Certificate.
