For a financial client we need Java Software Engineer (Scala). This position is based in Boston, MA and Merrimack, NH and Durham, NC . We are Primarily looking for W2 Candidates and not looking for Third Party Candidates. The Expertise We're Looking For

  • Expert level (8+ years' experience) developing with Java
  • Specialist (2+ years' experience) developing with Scala
  • Understanding of and experience in Asset Management nice to have
  • As software engineer, delivering software using agile development practices
  • Experience in Spring, Restful Web services, JMS, Maven, Jenkins
  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous delivery (CI/CD) patterns using cloud infrastructure.
  • Superb communication & presentation skills
The Skills You Bring
  • A strong contributor with a collaborative work style
  • A Java specialist and can write high performance (CPU and Memory optimized) code.
  • Understand RESTful API principles and have experience designing and developing RESTful API's using Spring
  • Scala specialist with 2 or more years of hands-on development experience
  • Have experience designing and developing actor models, preferably using Akka
  • Understand and value automated unit testing and code analysis tools (preferably Junit), and have worked in an environment where consistency to code quality and coverage standards is implemented
  • Experience using AWS tools and working in a cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Have worked on SCRUM / Agile teams
  • Have experience working with Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD), preferable using FitNesse
  • Can accurately measure and track the performance of components throughout development and fix degradations in performance
  • Have experience using and configuring continuous integration and continuous delivery products, preferably Jenkins
  • Have an understanding of messaging frameworks such as Kafka and EMS.
  • Understand best engineering practices and have the ability to coach and mentor junior engineers.
  • You are able to clearly detail design options and decisions, and present these in an organized manner to technical as well as non-technical audiences
