Rate of pay: starting at $23.34per hour

This is the reasonably anticipated pay or pay range for this position currently.

Position Summary:

Hours: 1:00pm- 9:30pm

Days off: rotating days off

Position Overview:

Basic knowledge of lab set up in order to pull and properly handle samples for chemical, microbiological, retains and shelf life analysis of all dairy products. This position is required to be knowledgeable in basic lab quality control skills and be able to identify quality issues on the lines and report to proper personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

Able to demonstrate knowledge of safety areas reviewed in the safety orientation program.

Work with other departments to insure all company and regulatory standards are met.

Perform routine bacteriological and chemical testing of dairy products.

Follow standard procedures and detailed instructions.

Obtain samples for testing from containers and tanks in the manufacturing facility.

Testing of raw materials and finished product.

General lab preparation.

Maintain existing lab equipment in good working order and obtain service when necessary.

Observe and accurately record details.

Maintain State Lab Certification program.

Complete all work before shift closing.

Primary responsibility is to pull all required samples in the established time periods allowing laboratory to be able to identify product issues as they are running on the line.

Must maintain lab in a clean and organized fashion prior to end of shift.

Monitor the plant weight checks daily and inform operators of problems. Place out of spec product on hold for further testing.

Perform monthly documented plant inspections for GMP.

Maintain and organize plant QC checks (Daily filler, filters, door sprayer, and daily plant temp check.

Assist with testing consumer complaints as they come in, react to trends involving this plant and notify appropriate personnel

Assist production employees to correct deviations and eliminate in the future

SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:

Support SQF by/through:

- Maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.

- Monitoring of incoming goods

- Monitoring of incoming services

- Corrective and Preventative Action program

- Maintaining the Finished Product and Raw Material Release program

- Conducting Mock Recalls

- Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

- Serve as a backup for other lab technicians and the QA Manager when needed.
