Bar Backs at Ace Hotel Brooklyn are responsible for ensuring guests receive safe, compassionate and proper bar service. Bar backs are responsible for helping bartenders keep the bar clean and organized by bussing bar areas, keeping glasses and other bar equipment clean, and product well-stocked and maintaining storage areas. Maintaining Department of Health standards at all times.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Ace Hotel Brooklyn.
Warmly greet and acknowledge guests upon arrival and/or while moving through public spaces
Assist bartender in stocking bar with necessary product and service tools (i.e. alcohol and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, straws, silverware, etc.) 
Prepare necessary garnishes, syrups, juices, and/or batches according to Ace Hotel Brooklyn standards
Responsible for all assigned equipment i.e. juicers, measuring cups, scales, etc. 
Remove plates, glassware, silverware when guests are finished (prebus)
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bars, work areas, glassware, utensils, and bar equipment as well as cleanliness, organization and stocking of storage areas. 
Prepare non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant’s standard drink recipes, if needed
Responsible for all areas of bar back checklist on a daily basis
Work with fellow employees and management in a friendly and communicative manner to meet guests’ needs and support the  operation of the restaurant
Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and any scheduled employee meetings
Report all equipment problems, bar maintenance issues, or damages to the restaurant managers
Utilize employee entrance and back of house elevators during working hours 
Be knowledgeable of property facilities, services, hours of operation, in-house events, and promote property outlets to better assist guests 
Maintain confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information
Perform additional duties as requested by department managers and supervisors
