Maintenance Assistant

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring Wairakei Resort Taupō is presented to the highest standard for our guests. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will carry out a wide variety of maintenance, repair, and painting tasks across our accommodation, public areas, and resort facilities.This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll work both independently and as part of a supportive team, helping maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out general repairs and preventative maintenance across the resort.Complete painting, plastering, and finishing work to a high standard.Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and reported faults.Assist with room refurbishments and improvement projects.Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance issues before they become problems.Maintain outdoor areas, including pathways, gardens, signage, and resort facilities as required.Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely.Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.Support the Engineering team with planned maintenance and larger projects as required.Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked workshop and storage areas.
