Job Description

We are looking for aMaintenance Support Managerto join our fleet team based in eitherMelbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.

Broadly, the role is responsible for creating and maintaining fleet maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, whilst keeping costs of ownership to a minimum. You will be expected to liaise with key maintenance stakeholders to analyse maintenance trends and liaise with OEMs to drive improvement and maximise warranty coverage.

As the Maintenance Support Manager, you will:

  • Review fleet maintenance schedules to ensure optimised outcomes whilst consistent with OEM and statutory guidelines.
  • Analyse unplanned maintenance trends and recommend improvement opportunities to lower costs of maintenance.
  • Engage with OEMs and component suppliers and ensure warranty details are fully captured for all products and fleet with claims leveraged wherever possible.
  • Conduct awareness training for internal stakeholders (workshop techs, central admin, fleet managers) on warranty coverage and design processes to ensure compliance
  • Support incident investigations where fleet is identified as a potential causal factor and oversee engagement with OEMs to determine root cause and future remedial actions required.
  • Review any recalls and campaigns and ensure full compliance within required completion timeframes.
  • Define projects and initiatives, with clear charters, baselines and forecast calculations.
  • Assess warranty claims with suppliers (relationships with suppliers)
  • Reviewing existing fleet, liaise with OEM, ensuring schedules are up to date
  • Clear understanding of fleet specs for new and older vehicles

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Heavy Diesel Mechanic License required
  • Technical background
  • Communicating on behalf of the business with the OEM’s lodging claims etc
  • Demonstrated use of fleet management systems
  • Experience withMultiple fleet types, broad range of types, heavy exposure with OEM.
  • Supervisory skills with the ability to demonstrate and influence others
  • Evidence of working with a broad spectrum of suppliers
  • Strong working knowledge of warranties and claims.
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal, and written communication skills,
  • Experience with updating fleet data in a maintenance system, as well as producing and analysing reports.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, particularly Excel and SharePoint.
