Why does the role exist?As part of Simpler for Stores, Lead the delivery of programs within the Workforce Management and productivity

stream into Retail Operations across Dan Murphy’s and BWS retail.

● Manage the integrity of labor models and labor standards for the stores and deliver bottom up wage budgets to all retail units supporting 1650 + sites and 10,000+ Team Members. 

● Direct line management of a team of specialists to maintain and improve labour standards and workforce planning across retail. 

● Work as part of the Simpler for Stores team to ensure that enterprise workforce management reporting and

support systems accurately reflect business process maps and rostering principles, with all planned process

changes applied in line with store deployment plans – supporting the consistent store delivery of a great team

rostering solution experience and Voice of Customer metrics.

● To support and challenge the delivery of wage budget outcomes that enable compliant store rostering demand

lines.

● Conceptualise and implement analytics required to identify opportunities and support workforce planning across

retail operations

● Lead and support the delivery of multiple process changes that challenges the cost of doing business, by

identifying and valuing opportunities for improvement. This includes effectively collaborating with a broad range of

key business stakeholders to support productivity model overlays, and on-going performance convergence relative

to budgeted / forecasted metrics.

● Support the development of the workforce planning strategy and lead the business in implementing best in class

workforce planning and productivity practices. Coach, support and develop supporting project team and business

partners on rostering, Workforce Management and productivity related best practices, ensuring that the overall

WFM team’s work-plan is delivered, with a pipeline of skills to support future team capability requirements.

● Work with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop new labor standards, and keep productivity

databases aligned through on-going enhancements.The key activities I will perform:● To Lead the maintenance of productivity labor standards which accurately reflect expected store operational and customer standards, with a pragmatic operational and financial approach.

● To ensure that departmental labor standards are optimized through end to end rostering solutions, leveraging systems data to manage wage costs.● To fully understand, challenge and transform the operational cost base throughout the annual financial cycle, validating and overlaying change to ensure that each rebase of standards reconciles in both hours and wages terms.● To fully understand, challenge and transform all proposed and developing process change, providing an early productivity impact assessment that supports effective project prioritization.● Lead the WFM stream of the Simpler for Stores team and partner with business teams to identify process improvement opportunities that reduce the cost of doing business within a range of productivity targets. ● To Lead, identify and support multiple business stakeholders to drive maximum value from process change that reduces the stores’ cost of doing business.● Support Simpler for Stores, Brand Finance and Operations teams to identify underlying performance opportunities that are a risk to delivering departmental wage budgets.My success is measured by:● The target productivity rates for stores align to Business Process maps and include all activity expected to be achieved by store teams.

● Labour standards are tested and costed end to end before applying to store rosters, ensuring that wage impacts are fully validated and signed off.

● Financial budgets reconcile from one base budget to the next, with changes in productivity rates understood and reconciled.

● Business partnerships are well developed, with early collaboration and scenario modeling applied as part of each initiative’s ‘go/no go’ decision.● Demonstrate courage in challenging ineffective process proposals, whilst offering costed alternative solutions that help to lower the cost of doing business.

● Fully aligned to all initiatives that impact productivity targets, and recognised as a significant contributor to the success of each one.● Retail operations teams are supported with labor standards that help drive a wage budget that ensures our store teams are support and our customer are able to receive service intended.
