Job Summary The Lead, Operations works under a Manager or Director and functions in a “lead” capacity for a group of employees. The lead must work in support of the daily operations and associated projects / assignments and is responsible for scheduling and controlling the daily work arrangements for a group of employees. Under the direction of the Manager or Director of Operations, the lead provides oversight for the day-to-day aspects of a group of employees within an assigned IMG provider practice. This position is responsible for scheduling and controlling the daily working arrangements of staff and monitoring the operational flow. The Lead, Operations is responsible for assisting the Manager or Director, Operations in maintaining the daily flow of the practice and ensuring the necessary resources are available to support optimal practice flow. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinates with the Manager or Director, Operations to implement current initiatives and strategic priorities.

Supervises the daily clinical support operations within area of responsibility, ensuring standards of access, service and costs are met.

Establishes a positive work environment. Works to ensure adequate clinical and support coverage within departments of responsibility.

Keeps Manager, Operations updated on significant operational issues that require escalation via daily huddles.

Serves as the on-site point person for staff relations, includes resolving administrative problems at the practice level in collaboration with the Manager, Operations.

Maintains practice(s) compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory and compliance requirements.

Assures appropriate staff coverage including back-up coverage and actively participates in the coverage model.

May provide back-up support for other areas and/or locations within or across practice locations on an as needed basis.

Works with leadership to ensure that practice and providers are in compliance with IMG policies and procedures.

Participate in various IMG initiatives with the focus on driving results in the practice(s).

Evaluates and monitors performance to standards with regard to patient flow, response to patient/staff inquires and requests, issue resolution, etc. and adjusts as necessary to enhance achievement of practice objectives.

Ability to cross cover for all non-clinical positions.

Participate in the monitoring of inventory and procurement systems. Works with Facilities and Purchasing to secure supplies and equipment necessary to operations.

Support and promote the mission and values of Covenant Health and the Catholic Health Ministry.

Other duties as consistent with this role.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

2 years of increasingly responsible leadership in healthcare practice management required.

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent years of education, training or experience required.

Job knowledge and skills

Demonstrated organizational, leadership and teamwork skills. Strong organizational and problem resolution skills.

Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, providers, patients and the public.

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills required, including the ability to identify, analyze and resolve operational issues.

Demonstrates team building skills.

Ability to cross cover for all positions.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, and ability to work independently and autonomously.

Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and within a team environment and a multi-dimensional environment.

Creative, flexible, self-motivated, professional must possess sound judgment ability to implement activities consistent with achieving service excellence.
