Procurement Specialist (SCM Process Optimization)

In this role you will travel to our warehouse in Laredo, TX 2-3 times a month for 1-3 days each trip.Core Responsibilities Support COD team and warehouse operations with technical / process matters in day-to-day activitiesAssist COD and warehouse team and warehouse operations with problem solving activities while also coaching the team and providing the tools/training to allow them to solve problems on their own.Responsible for reviewing processes within the COD and identifying areas of improvement and alignment.Develop process documentation & work instructions for both warehouse operations and responsibilities within the COD team. Organize training when neededCreate standardized processes and procedures as required for COD team and warehouse operationsDevelop new innovative strategies for the COD team as well as the operations within the warehouseIdentify cost improvements/savings with the COD and warehouse operationsReview monthly Logistics Cost and Inventory results and identify deviations to budget. Work with entire COD team to determine root cause of deviations and actions needed to resolve.Support New Project Launch activitiesInterface to other functional areas of Continental such as Finance, IT, Sales, Project Management etc. Act as liaison with IT team for new interfaces, implementation of new conceptsSupport Operations as requiredPerform all other position related duties as assigned of
