Summary: Manufacturing Innovation Strategy is a pillar within Meta’s DEC Engineering Team supporting the engineering, design, and data center delivery through the application of manufacturing strategies and component development. We exist to support the predictable delivery of capacity at scale. The Manufacturing Innovation Strategy team’s primary focus is implementing the concepts of Manufacturing Informed Designed (MID) into the data center engineering and design standards. The Manufacturing Component Realization role will be responsible for driving the realization of the manufacturing strategy through partnership with design, delivery, sourcing and other cross functional teams. This will consist of leading market research and engaging vendors, virtual development and prototyping of concepts and components, and managing the Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) manufacturing efforts.Required Skills: Program Manager, Manufacturing Component Realization Responsibilities:Build strong relationships with sourcing, data center equipment strategy (DES), and manufacturing delivery teams to enable the transition of manufacturing component from engineering to execution
Establish and operationalize feedback loop with the Delivery and Program Development teams to better inform our component development. Communicate lessons learned, possible improvements, possible opportunities, etc. and bring them back to the engineering team
Responsible for implementation of Meta Building Information Modeling (BIM) standards throughout manufacturing component development
Responsible for leading Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) efforts for the manufacturing innovation strategy team in partnership with engineering, design, and construction partners. Including engaging with industry partners to develop technology solutions that increase efficiency of Manufacturing Informed Design (MID) concepts
Responsible for integration and management of the use of VR to support manufacturing component development and cross functional component reviews
Define requirements and develop manufacturing model and drawings in collaboration with manufacturing component program managers
Collaborate with Meta sustainability teams to drive benefit and impact to sustainability through offsite manufacturing and MID strategies
Develop First-of-Kind Component Standards in collaboration with Engineering, Design, and Quality teams (ex. logistics planning, advanced work packages, and QA & CX strategies/procedures)
Develop and maintain component definition documents (CDD) used to create programmatic standards driving procurement
Lead virtual prototyping efforts of manufacturing concepts and first of kind components. This includes reporting on status, lessons learned, and adjustments needed to refine the designs of the components
Responsible for identification and assessment of new partners to qualify, grow, evolve, and measure, for potential use in the manufacturing strategy
Research and report on industry trends as needed to support the team efforts
Develop and implement strategies for manufacturing data collection and reporting with Strategic Business Services (SBS) partners as appropriate including any success metrics and or dash boarding
Communicate manufacturing strategy with cross functional teams on related efforts to ensure alignment and transparency across Design, Engineering, & Construction (DEC)
Responsible for assembling lessons learned, discovering vendors, finding new technology, and sharing other topics to the group for exploration
Utilize LEAN, AGILE, SCRUM, and other management skills to continuously improve and evolve the efficiency of the team, partner groups, and vendors
